3D SPACE MAPPING

Mapping is a concept for the process of creating a numerical map by interpreting or processing data, images and point cloud, etc., obtained by satellite imagery, aerial photogrammetry, LiDAR, and drone surveying.


DO2 has been building 3D spatial data for many years through 3D mapping technology and fixing problems of aerial photogrammetry (available working days, economic feasibility, convenience) through drone accessibility.

3D spatial data includes visualization models (building modeling) as basic data of spatial data that can be combined with various fields such as smart cities, digital twin, and VR/AR.

DO2 handles mapping by using Pix4D's software mapper, matic, and survey, with which it has a business agreement, and checks 5 quality inspection items provided in the process.

  • Through this process, 'orthophoto', all the adjusted input pictures, taken in the air perpendicularly toward ground is calculated by correcting the geometric distortions such as height difference and inclination of pictures taken by drones, and DSM (numerical data arranging the elevation of the topography at regular intervals based on the recognized topography) and DEM (a table in which vegetation and artifacts are removed from the DSM generated by the numeric elevation model, mainly used for earthwork planning) will be also obtained.

Machine Learning, as a field of artificial intelligence among computer science, evolved from the study of pattern recognition and computational learning theory.


Machine learning can be said to be a technology that learns based on empirical data, makes predictions, studies and develops a system which improves its own performance and algorithms for it, and algorithms of machine learning, rather than executing strictly fixed static program instructions, build specific models to make predictions or decisions based on input data.

  • Roof-top extraction technology of DO2 uses a supervised learning method as a technology that recognizes the roof through machine learning. The roof-top extraction recognition procedure preprocesses the learning input label image by extracting the label data from the public shape file, then learns the input and label image, and processes through four steps to validation of image matching for performance verification.
